If You Are Experiencing a Medical Emergency
Call 911 or your local emergency number immediately. Do not use Ovaela to seek help in an emergency. This app cannot call emergency services, dispatch help, or provide emergency medical guidance.
If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, call or text the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988).
1. Not an FDA-Approved Medical Device
Ovaela is not an FDA-approved or FDA-cleared medical device. It has not been evaluated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for safety or effectiveness. The Service is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any disease or medical condition.
Ovaela operates as a General Wellness Product under FDA guidance. This means it is intended only to promote general wellness and healthy lifestyle choices, not to make clinical determinations about your health.
2. AI-Generated Content
All wellness insights, observations, and information provided by Ovaela are generated by artificial intelligence (AI). This content is:
- Not reviewed by a licensed healthcare professional before being presented to you
- Not equivalent to a professional medical opinion, diagnosis, or clinical assessment
- Not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or up-to-date
- Not personalized medical advice: it is general wellness information based on the data you provide
AI technology has known limitations. It may miss patterns that a healthcare professional would catch, or it may surface observations that have no clinical significance. You should never rely solely on AI-generated content for health decisions.
3. Not a Substitute for Professional Medical Advice
Ovaela provides wellness information, not medical advice. The Service does not replace the relationship between you and your healthcare provider. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before:
- Making changes to your diet, exercise, or supplement routine
- Interpreting blood work or lab results
- Starting, stopping, or changing any medication
- Making decisions about your physical or mental health
- Acting on any information provided by the Service
Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read or received from Ovaela.
4. Lab Results Are Educational, Not Diagnostic
When you enter blood work or lab results into Ovaela, the Service may display your values alongside reference ranges and provide general educational information about what those markers measure.
This information is for educational purposes only. The Service does not:
- Diagnose any disease or medical condition based on lab values
- Provide clinical interpretations of your results
- Assess disease risk from lab patterns
- Determine whether your results are medically significant
Only a qualified healthcare provider can interpret your lab results in the context of your complete medical history, symptoms, medications, and overall health.
5. Supplement Information Is Informational, Not Prescriptive
Ovaela may provide factual, evidence-based information about dietary supplements, including forms, dosing ranges, absorption factors, and published research on interactions.
This information is provided for educational purposes only. The Service does not:
- Prescribe or recommend specific supplements for specific conditions
- Tell you to start, stop, or change any supplement
- Claim that supplements will treat, prevent, or cure any disease
- Replace the guidance of a healthcare provider, pharmacist, or registered dietitian
Always discuss supplement changes with your healthcare provider or pharmacist, especially if you take prescription medications.
6. Wearable Data
Ovaela may analyze data from a wearable you connect, such as heart-rate variability (HRV), recovery scores, strain metrics, and sleep data. Wearable data reaches Ovaela through Apple Health (on the iOS app), the Terra aggregator (for Oura, Fitbit, Garmin, Polar, Suunto, or Withings, on both web and iOS), or manual entry; Ovaela has no direct first-party integration with WHOOP or other wearable brands. The wellness insights generated from this data are educational observations, not clinical assessments, and should not be used to make medical decisions. If you have concerns about your heart rate, recovery patterns, or sleep, consult your healthcare provider.
7. No Doctor-Patient Relationship
Using Ovaela does not create a doctor-patient relationship between you and Ovaela, its employees, affiliates, or any healthcare provider you may find through the app's informational doctor directory.
Ovaela's doctor directory is informational only; Ovaela does not currently transmit a wellness summary to a provider on your behalf. Ovaela is designing a future doctor-sharing workflow that would let you share a wellness summary with a provider you select, with your explicit consent; that workflow is not yet enabled. If it becomes available and you choose to use it, any resulting doctor-patient relationship is between you and that provider, not between you and Ovaela. In that workflow Ovaela would act as a data conduit for the information you choose to share, not a healthcare provider.
8. Limitations of AI Accuracy
Ovaela uses advanced artificial intelligence, but AI technology has inherent limitations:
- AI models can produce inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading outputs
- The quality of insights depends on the accuracy and completeness of the data you provide
- AI cannot account for your complete medical history, genetics, medications, or individual circumstances
- AI models reflect the data they were trained on, which may contain biases or gaps
- The Service may not identify every pattern that could be relevant to your health
- False positives (flagging something that is not a real concern) and false negatives (missing something that is a real concern) are both possible
We continuously work to improve the accuracy of our AI, but no AI system is perfect. This is why we always recommend discussing your health data with a qualified healthcare provider.
Important Reminder
